Hong Kong is going full steam ahead in its bid to reenergize the trade exhibitions industry in Asia where it was the leader during the pre-pandemic period. Dubbed the “Best City for Meetings in Asia” by Smart Travel Asia in its 2020 Best of the Decade awards, Hong Kong has more than 50 major venues for meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE) events.
Hong Kong’s available space for trade exhibitions is at least 150,000 sqm. Most well-known among Hong Kong show venues are the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE), and the Hong Kong International Trade and Exhibition Centre.
In 2019, at least 1.6 million overseas visitors comprising exhibitors and buyers arrived to participate in more than 100 Hong Kong trade shows held in the Special Administrative Region.
This year, the island aims to lure back MICE visitors with the return of several globally well-known Hong Kong trade fairs that are considered important for their respective industries including, electronics, jewellery, gifts, watches and clocks and lighting.
The following are among 2023’s must-visit HongKong shows (HK shows) that are on the calendars of professional buyers and suppliers:
Organized by 20-year trade show veteran Global Sources, these Hong Kong Shows comprise five trade fairs altogether with a total of 4,000 booths and 10,000 products. This HK show, which will be held at AWE, attracts senior management as well as sourcing and product development executives of major international retailers, manufacturers, brand owners, Amazon and other online sellers and venture capitalists.
Also featured in this Hong Kong trade fair are seminars in which sourcing and industry leaders are expected to share the latest technology trends as well as tips on how to grow a business.
These HK shows should not be missed by purchasing executives of businesses that purchase products for resale as well as senior management of companies looking for private-label and suppliers’ brands.

Known as the “world’s only dedicated show for everything mobile,” the highlight of this Hong Kong trade show consists of the latest mobile devices, wearable electronics, AR & VR devices, charging products and mobile device accessories.
This show offers specialized sourcing for the latest smart living innovations with product categories including smart home security, entertainment (smart TVs and speakers), security cameras and surveillance, energy-efficient lighting and energy management.
A one-stop trade show for home, gift and fashion sourcing, Lifestyle x Fashion features a wide variety of on-trend fashion accessories as well as products in the following categories: apparel and textiles, health and personal care, sports, and gifts and stationery.
This Hong Kong show provides the largest exhibition area for two main product categories, namely household appliances and kitchen appliances. Among the products to be exhibited under Household Appliances are cleaning equipment, home air cleaners, space heaters, air conditioners, laundry appliances and pest control products. Under Kitchen Appliances are cooking appliances, dishwashers and dryers, coffee makers, food preparation appliances, fridges and freezers, water treatment appliances and more.

This is the spring edition of a twice-a-year Hong Kong trade fair hosted by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. It includes products in the following categories: commercial lighting, residential lighting, functional and decorative lighting, decorative lighting, desk lamps, wall lamps, crystal lights and Christmas lighting. The venue for this event is the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. This Hong Kong show was last held in 2019, during which there were more than 2,700 exhibitors.
Jewellery & Gem ASIA (JGA), by organizer Informa Markets, was formerly known as the June Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair. The trade fair highlights expansive jewellery showcases; diamond, colored gemstone and pearl marketplaces, and zones dedicated to equipment and technology solutions. The show also features a seminar program where attendees can benefit from the business insights of industry experts.
This show is touted as “Asia’s premier fresh fruit and vegetable trade show.” Organized by Global Produce Events (HK) Co. Ltd, Asia Fruit Logistica gathers leading players in the global fresh fruit and vegetable supply chain. Exhibitors are grouped into four categories: fresh produce, technical systems, logistics and services. The 2022 edition of this show, held in Bangkok, had 420 exhibitors from 42 countries and drew almost 10,000 trade visitors from some 70 countries.
This Hong Kong trade show also includes the AsiaFruit Congress, known as “Asia’s longest-running fresh produce business conference,” where industry experts are expected to share high-level insights on the key topics and trends in the trade.
Organized by Informa, Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong (JGW), will return to its original dual-venue, product category-specific format at AWE from September 18 to 22 and the HKCEC from September 20 to 24.
AWE will host the jewellery materials section of JGW while HKCEC will highlight finished jewellery, packaging solutions, tools and equipment, and jewellery industry-related technologies. This Hong Kong show will be the 40th edition of JGW.
Cosmoprof Asia, organized by Informa Markets and which debuted in 1996, is known as the “largest B2B beauty exhibition in the Asia Pacific region.” Cosmoprof Asia hosts companies and professionals specializing in finished products in the following categories: cosmetics and toiletries, beauty salon, hair salon, nail and accessories, natural and organic and clean and hygiene.
This trade fair attracts buyers and sellers from Asia as well as other regions worldwide.

These top trade shows lead some 40 Hong Kong trade shows already scheduled to be held in 2023 in Hong Kong. It may be an indicator of a strong resurgence not only of the MICE industry but of the various industries whose suppliers and manufacturers are showcasing new products for professional buyers worldwide.
