The cost of raw materials for home décor production is basically stable.

Grouping materials by source, 70 to 80 percent are domestic while the rest are imported.

Natural materials include bamboo, seagrass, water hyacinth, rattan and wood are from the provinces of Hoa Binh and Lai Chau in the North, and Ha Tay, Bac Ninh and Thai Binh in the Red River Delta Region. They also come from Nghe An, Thanh Hoa and Ha Tinh in the Central Coast. The materials are used for interior and exterior furnishings of decorative baskets, artwork frames, vases, lamps, and garden gazebos and bridges.

Bamboo and rattan are from the provinces of Lam Dong, Khanh Hoa and Quang Ngai.

Ceramic, clay, glaze, cement, and other additives and minerals are from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh cities, and Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, Hue, Quang Nam, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Vinh Long and An Giang provinces. Clay is sourced from Lao Cai in the North, and Kien Giang and Vinh Long provinces in the South. Despite the ready availability of clay and ceramic, however, ceramic and pottery suppliers from crafts villages such as Bat Trang adopt both domestic and imported materials.

Metal, textiles and plastic are auxiliary materials. Wrought iron and brass are used for figurines, candle holders and basket frames. They are bought from metallurgy companies in Lao Cai, Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City.

On the other hand, colored glass for tiffany glass lamps is from the US and France.

Iridescent pearl

The VPM028 model from Viet Pearl Lacquer Company is a lacquer MDF mirror frame finished with lacquer and inlaid with mother-of-pearl by hand. Its diameter is 80cm and thickness is 3cm. It is available in blue, green and yellow, and in different decorative styles. Custom colors, sizes and designs are accepted. Each item is packed in a five-layer master carton. The FOB quotation is $15-$20 per piece. Minimum order is 100 pieces.

Lacquer frame

The VPPF03 model from Viet Pearl Lacquer Company is a rectangular photo frame finished with lacquer and inlaid with mother-of-pearl. It is available in black and white. Custom colors, sizes and designs are accepted. Each item is packed in a wrapping paper and five-layer master carton. Quote starts at $2-$5/piece. Minimum order is 100 pieces.

Mixed colors

The BLLA4343 model from Oriental Home Company is an oval vase finished with lacquer and inlaid with eggshell. Colors, sizes and designs are customizable. Each item is carefully wrapped in paper or polybag before packing into standard export master cartons with sizes that range from 0.1 cm3 to 0.14cm3 and maximum total gross weight of around 18-24kg per carton. Minimum order is 30 pieces.

Glossy heart

The V018 model from Oriental Home Company is a heart-shaped red vase finished with lacquer. Colors, sizes and designs are customizable. Each item is wrapped in two layers of special packaging paper then a layer of polyfoam. It is packed in a three-layer cardboard box. Minimum order is 30 pieces.

Half oval vases

The BVT1 model from Bao Vy pottery Company is a set of two half oval wall clay terracotta pots. Colors, sizes and designs are customizable. Each item is packed in wooden pallets and carton. Minimum order is a 20-foot container. Quotes range from $4 to $8 per piece.

Terracotta figurine

The BVT model from Bao Vy Pottery Company is a terracotta garden ornament in various forms. Custom colors, sizes and designs are accepted. Each item is packed in wooden pallets and carton. Minimum order is a 20-foot container. Quotes range from $2 to $7 per piece.
