The latest women's kaftans from India boast sharp prints and various embellishments that enhance visual appeal. Pieces that can be worn as tops, tunics, short or full-length dresses, nighties or formal gowns are available.

Designs often depend on the type of occasion the clothing will be worn. Many kaftan tops, for instance, have stripes, paisleys or floral patterns. Other casual wear come in animal, plant or tribal prints. Aquatic motifs, including marine life and waves, are mostly seen in beachwear.
