Global toy manufacturer and distributor Zuru has officially acquired an exclusive, worldwide license for Nimuno Loops. According to the deal’s terms, the innovative toy block tape will be marketed under the Mayka construction brand. Shipping will start July this year.
Dubbed as one of 2017’s best inventions, Nimuno Loops is a flexible toy block tape that transforms any surface into a platform suitable for construction blocks and figures from brands such as Lego and Mega Bloks. It can be cut into various shapes and sizes, and allows 3D and gravity-defying creations via an adhesive backing.
Designed originally by Chrome Cherry Design Studios, Nimuno Loops gained worldwide recognition through a campaign on Indiegogo. It earned $1.6 million on the first month alone, exceeding its $8,000 goal by more than 20,000 percent.
Meanwhile, worldwide license to distribute another successfully crowdfunded toy, Antsy Labs’ Fidget Cube, was also secured by Zuru days before its acquisition of Nimuno Loops.
Ranking second in the most backed Kickstarter campaigns of all time, Fidget Cube set off a ground-breaking demand for fidget toys, resulting in Zuru upping IP protection as part of the agreement.
