Among all kinds of export agricultural products in my country, vegetables, which are labor-intensive industries, have always been my country's export agricultural products with relatively competitive strength and growth potential. From the perspective of the structure of exported vegetables, fresh and frozen vegetables are the main varieties for export, but their profits are far less than those of deep-processed vegetables. Dehydrated vegetables, as high value-added vegetable varieties, account for an increasing proportion of my country's vegetable exports. According to the statistics of the Ministry of Agriculture, from January to August this year, my country exported 221,800 tons of dehydrated vegetables, a year-on-year increase of 24.65%, accounting for 6.49% of the total vegetable exports. %.
The survey shows that the current demand for dehydrated vegetables in domestic and foreign markets is relatively large. Although the output of dehydrated vegetables in my country is increasing rapidly every year, and has occupied a considerable share of the world's total output, according to industry estimates, the annual demand gap for dehydrated vegetables in both the international market and the domestic market is more than 50,000 tons. Therefore, the dehydrated vegetable industry is an export industry with lucrative profits and high growth potential.
Six factors restrict the development of the dehydrated vegetable industry
According to reports, at present, some developed countries generally use dehydrated vegetables, frozen vegetables and other methods to process vegetables, and their storage and processing volumes have accounted for 30% of the total vegetables produced. 80%. In the United States, the ratio of processed vegetables to fresh vegetables has risen from 38:62 in the 1960s to 60:40 today. my country is the world's largest vegetable producer, but there are few varieties of dehydrated vegetables and a narrow range. The development of the entire industry is still at a relatively low level and needs to be further developed and expanded.
First of all, although the output of major agricultural products such as grain, fruit, meat, eggs, aquatic products and vegetables in my country ranks first in the world, there is still a large gap compared with the world's advanced level in terms of total processing volume and processing level. gap. The ratio of agricultural product processing industry output value to agricultural output value in developed countries is mostly 3:1, while in my country it is only 0.6:1; the processing level of agricultural products in developed countries reaches more than 80%, but only 45% in my country, of which only 20% of them are further processed. %.
Secondly, the management system is not smooth. The lack of unified planning, classified guidance, and unified coordination for the guidance and management of the vegetable processing industry has resulted in the problem of disconnection between pre-production, mid-production and post-production, affecting the development of the dehydrated vegetable industry.
The third is that most of the enterprises and departments engaged in the scientific research, design and production of dehydrated vegetables in my country are in a scattered state, and the scientific and technological development and reserves are insufficient. The vast majority of dehydrated vegetable enterprises are small in scale and weak in strength. There are not many large-scale famous brand enterprises or enterprise groups with strong competitiveness. The production and operation costs are high, and the product quality is unstable. The technical level is more than 20 to 30 years behind developed countries. Most of the high-grade dehydrated vegetables on the international market are produced by vacuum freezing technology, but only a few manufacturers in my country can produce them.
The fourth is that the innovation of dehydrated vegetable varieties and the technological system of breeding are backward, and the varieties are single. At present, there are only more than 30 varieties of dehydrated vegetables in more than 20 categories, which is too narrow compared with thousands of vegetable varieties.
In addition, the production of raw materials is not suitable, resulting in a low degree of specialization and quality of vegetables. At the same time, the production scale is relatively small, the degree of organization is low, and the balanced supply capacity is poor, which is far from the requirements of the development of the processing industry.
The fifth is the imperfect processing standard and quality control system. There are few quality and safety indicators such as pesticide residues and veterinary drug residue limits in the product standards, which are far from the actual needs of agricultural production development and cannot meet the needs of the people for consumption safety. The standard technical content is relatively low, which is far from the actual needs of agricultural production development. The international standard rate is low, and the docking with international standards is not enough.
The construction of agricultural product quality inspection institutions is slow, the number of quality inspection institutions is far from the actual needs of the society, there are few high-precision inspection institutions and comprehensive inspection institutions, the detection ability is weak, the detection speed is slow, and the testing environment The conditions are poor, and the quality of the inspectors needs to be improved.
The sixth is the lack of policy support. In terms of credit, taxation, investment, etc., the state has relatively few supporting policies for the dehydrated vegetable processing industry, which affects the enthusiasm of investors and the development of the agricultural product processing industry.
