A recent examination by the Dutch Market Surveillance Authority showed that half of recalls could have been avoided had proper technical files been created.

In ProductIP's latest compliance update, a recent inspection by the Dutch Market Surveillance Authority (NVWA) of 41 plug-in USB chargers illustrated the need for proper technical files that prove product compliance. This applies specifically to formal noncompliant products.

The NVWA concluded that half of the product recalls could have been avoided if a proper technical file was created. The inspection covered samples across various well-known brands and price ranges. The products were evaluated for compliance with key aspects of the Low Voltage Directive.
