Talk about taking personalized jewerly on a whole new level. Turboleads LLC, a Switzerland-based company, launched a successful Kickstarter campaign for a jewelry collection filled with a person's DNA.

The project, known as Identity Inside, is spearheaded by chemist Dr. Robert Grass, who along with his team of scientists, developed a patent-pending process to purify and fossilize DNA into a pellet of glasslike material. This fossilized DNA is then placed in an incision in the jewelry and sealed into place by a two-point round diamond.

Dr. Grass estimates that under normal conditions, the DNA material will maintain its integrity for at least 1,000 years and can be re-extracted for future analysis.

TurboBeads will provide a kit that the backers will use to get a mouth swab sample. The company insists that it has strict privacy policies to make sure that a person's identity remains confidential.

The Identity Inside series currently consists of two ring styles made of sterling silver, an 18K rose gold pendant with a black silicone cord and a Swiss Langethal watch. Price ranges from $300 to $1,000.

Dr. Grass and his team target a Valentine's Day release for the first set of Identity Inside jewelry.
