LIFX light-up wall tile is app-, voice assistant-compatible

LIFX released a new smart lighting solution that combines wall décor and a mood light. The product, LIFX Tile, is an entertaining panel that flashes 16 million hues, various colors and effects all at once. It is convenient for it can be managed by an app over Wi-Fi or voice controlled via smart assistants Alexa, Siri and Google.

The $249 color-changing tile kit can be arranged or linked together with other pieces on a wall in different ways, including to form a square, rectangle or L shape. This makes it a versatile customizable wall centerpiece.

The smart tile, though, is said to be comparable to an earlier released triangular modular smart lighting panel set, Aurora from Nanoleaf. Those are also “connected”, smart assistant-ready and can be assembled as easy as Lego blocks.

There are also other color-changing tiles already around in the market that are capable of other functions. One has already gone digital with a touchscreen, being able to change its design and show videos.

Putting uniqueness aside, the fact that these kinds of panels are increasing is a good sign of a bright future for smart lighting.
