Licensed tuxedo rental shops operated by clothing retailer Men's Wearhouse are set to open in 300 Macy's stores in the US.

Macy's signed an agreement with Men's Wearhouse to launch licensed tuxedo rental shops in 300 Macy's stores across the US. Houston-based Men's Wearhouse will operate the shops, which will be located near the men's department in Macy's stores and staffed with its formalwear professionals.
According to Macy's press release, the line will target customers who are planning their wedding and preparing for other formal occasions, including proms. Rental tuxedos will also be offered, which will include prestige designer brands and exclusive styles.
The joint venture is planning to initiate an online digital tuxedo rental shop via Macys.com, supported by Men's Wearhouse reservation system that lets customers make reservations and track the rental status of others attending the same event. Macy's tuxedo rentals will be exclusively provided by Men's Wearhouse, though the department store chain would carry on selling tuxedos from the men's department.
The first Macy's Tuxedo Shops are expected to open in fall 2015 in different locations in the US, including New Jersey and San Francisco. The target is to reach300 stores by 2016.
New York-based Macy's reached $28.11 billion worth of sales in 2014. It was ranked as the top department store by the Retail Info Systems News for providing sales associates with tablets to assist customers and using RFID to keep track of inventory.
