EarlySense, a medical device and IoT startup from Israel has come out with a smart bed solution that lets users record their physical data while sleeping.

Instead of cumbersome and bulky devices, the myEarlySense is a thin, contact-free sensor that is placed under the bed mattress. It monitors how the user sleeps, how often they toss and turn or wake up, wake after sleep onset, and respiratory and heart rates, transmitting data to the myFamilyCare app.

The myEarlySense can be synced with other smart systems to activate various products to improve sleep or even ensure the user wakes up to a cup of brewed coffee. It can also adjust the heaters while a user is under the covers or turn off the alarm clock once the user gets up.

The app's Remote Viewer feature shares sleep=related data with family members or caregivers, and text messages are sent upon detection of irregular vital signs or behavior.

In January, Samsung invested $10 million in EarlySense to develop its IoT solution.
