One of the most important aspects of home maintenance is sprucing up the yard and garden. After all, these are areas that make the house attractive to look at from inside and out – and speak to the homeowner’s inclination to take care of the property. To maintain these areas, it is a must to find the right lawnmower to keep the grass in check. Here are some of the go-to types for customers based on different usage scenarios:
Cordless or battery-powered mowers are best suited for small lawns around ¼ acre wide and are lightweight and easy to maneuver. Their main selling point is the lack of cord to find an outlet for and avoid running over, so they tend to have a higher price tag than their gas counterparts. Despite being battery-powered, however, this type packs enough punch to do the same job as well as a gas lawnmower. For wider lawns of up to an acre, 56 to 80-volt variants are ideal.

Long heavy-duty extension cords are needed to cover a wider area. On a positive note, they weigh less and are easier to maneuver due to the lack of a built-in power source.
Petrol lawnmowers are often equipped with a strong engine for better cutting power. They have a fuel tank, eliminating the need for long cords, and are built for mowing large areas with tough grass types. However, petrol lawnmowers are typically heavier and noisier, owing to the large engine and wide cutting blades.
When sourcing lawnmowers, it’s also a must to keep in mind that some models offer extra features that make mowing easier. These include a self-propulsion mechanism, mulching plugs, easy start functions, easy-carry handles and rear rollers.
