A duo with backgrounds in computer science have modernized the traditional spiral notebook, giving birth to the Rocketbook.
The Rocketbook, which surpassed its original Indiegogo funding target by a staggering 3,500 percent, is an old-school paper notebook with seven icons at the bottom of each page. Users fill in the icon to indicate where they want that particular page to be stored in such as a Dropbox account or an e-mail inbox.
To upload the contents to the cloud, the user launches the Rocketbook smartphone app, and holds it over the two-page spread to be stored. The app does not have a capture button because it automatically captures the pages and loads these into the cloud as the pages are flipped.
The app is available in iOS and Android versions.
Rocketbook owners using Pilot Frixion pens do not need to get a new one once the notebook is filled. They simply have to throw the notebook in a microwave oven for 30 seconds and the scribbles will disappear. The spiral binding is made of microwave oven-friendly PP.
The notebook comes in letter size and the executive edition, which is slightly smaller.
