Among GlobalSources.com's top 20 electronic products in February 2014, newcomer laptop batteries stands out for its numbers: 534 percent more inquiries from January and an over seven-fold jump YoY.

Laptop batteries' on-month growth is the highest in the February listing, giving the category enough requests for information to land in 15th place. From an annual growth perspective, the line is third after "hot" product watch phones and mainstay Bluetooth speakers. Recent developments are pointing to a not-so-distant future where laptop batteries that can provide all-day power.

Bluetooth speakers, meanwhile, jumped a dramatic 11 places in the past 12 months. It is now in sixth place, with compact and colorful units spurring buyers’ interest in the line. Some models are moving up to Bluetooth 4.0 although mainstream versions continue to adopt Bluetooth 2+EDR.
