Top 20 electronics (March 2014): Bluetooth speakers sustain boom

The combination of wireless connectivity and portability continues to generate strong buyer interest in Bluetooth speakers.

In GlobalSources.com's top 20 electronics for March 2014, the category posted 1,093 percent growth in inquiries YoY. In each of the three months prior to this, inquiries rose an average 758 percent YoY. March 2014 figures are topped only by November 2013 numbers when requests for Bluetooth speaker information jumped 1,161 percent.

Pocket-sized units adopting Bluetooth 2.1+EDR now dominate China's mobile phone speakers selection.

TPU mobile phone cases, meanwhile, registered the highest increase in YoY inquiries by gathering 4,487 percent more RFIs in March 2014.

From an on-month perspective, the standout category was laptops, which more than recouped from its 4 percent drop in RFIs in February 2014 with 545 percent growth in March. Inquiries more than doubled YoY.
