The acquisition diversifies the leading retailer's products and services.

Universal Supply Co. announced its acquisition of A&C Supply, a distributor of construction fasteners and tools to contractors and builders in Delaware Valley, New Jersey. The team up would launch the new Universal Fasteners brand. In a press release by marketwired.com, Universal Supply COO Jeff Umosella said that the brand can help in the diversification of the company's specialty product categories and customer base.

Universal Supply is a subsidiary of US LBM Holdings, a company engaged in distributing a wide selection of building materials throughout the United States. It also provides lumber, design services and consultancy. US LBM, which has an EBITDA of more than $100 million for the fiscal year 2014, is reportedly deliberating a sale. However, no confirmation has been released.
