Adobe launches Catalog Agent, an AI tool designed to improve how merchants' product catalogs are interpreted by large language model search systems, signaling a key move in the evolving landscape of zero-click search experiences.

Adobe has introduced Catalog Agent, a new artificial intelligence tool aimed at helping merchants make product catalog data more visible to large language model search systems. The company says the software scans catalog records and product pages, then recommends changes that improve how those pages are interpreted by AI crawlers without altering what shoppers see on screen. It is being offered to customers using Adobe Commerce, Adobe Commerce as a Cloud Service and Adobe Commerce Optimizer.

The release extends Adobe's broader push into AI search optimization, a category the company is building with tools such as LLM Optimizer and Brand Visibility. Adobe has said those products draw on technology and data from its Semrush acquisition, which it says gives businesses access to nearly 300 million real-world AI search prompts and competitive visibility data. According to Adobe, the goal is to connect insight, optimization and measurement in a single workflow as brands try to influence how they appear in generative search results.

Industry analysts say product catalogs are especially valuable in this new search environment because they contain structured, constantly updated information that AI systems can process quickly. Liz Miller of Constellation Research told TechTarget that catalogs are well suited to algorithmic discovery because they can be linked directly to inventory, shipping and supply-chain data. That makes them a strong foundation not only for AI visibility today but also for the next phase of search marketing, in which users may get answers, images and even sponsored placements without clicking through to a website.

Adobe is entering a crowded field. Shopify, SAP and smaller vendors including Yotpo and Fabric are also building tools to help companies surface content inside AI search experiences. The competition is likely to intensify as marketers adapt to what Miller described as a "zero-click" future, where the result page itself becomes the destination. Adobe's latest move suggests it wants to position its commerce stack as both a storefront and a data layer for the next generation of search-driven commerce.
